Bay Bridge West Span Pathway– your help is needed NOW!
The next two weeks are CRITICAL to winning our 12-year campaign for a Pathway all the way to San Francisco from the East Bay. Don't leave the dream of shore-to-shore access dangling over the waters halfway!
On Wednesday, January 27, at 10:00 AM, elected officials will vote to increase bridge tolls, but they are not supporting our Bay Bridge West Span Pathway and they need to hear from us–bigtime! A proposed toll increase could fund the remaining half of the pathway on the West Span, and complete the Alex Zuckerman Pathway currently under construction on the East Span of the Bay Bridge.

Pavement Marking Maintenance
Your help is needed for the annual City maintenance of Bicycle Pavement Markings
Bike in Berkeley? Your observation skills are needed to report any pavement markings that are worn, damaged or otherwise appear to need an update. Please email Eric Anderson, City of Berkeley's Bike Ped Planner at eanderson AT ci DOT berkeley DOT ca DOT us, if bike lane markings, Bike Boulevard pavement legends, bike stencils, etc.... could use refreshing. Your clear description of exact location and specific marking will be very much appreciated.
Safely through traffic circles
Perceptions of safety are often subjective. With more information they can be more objective. Speaking personally, I have not had problems with traffic circles. Taking the lane is even more important at traffic circles than at other places on residential streets. I make sure I have already taken the lane at least 50 feet before entering the circle. That way it's easy to control the speeds of cars behind me. A picture of this will help to explain what I mean.
