BFBC Newsletters
BFBC's bi-monthly newsletter, the Bicycle-Friendly Times, is mailed to all members. It is also available, free, at the Berkeley Bikestation and most bike shops in Berkeley.
You can also get it on-line, right here. To access it, you will need to enter a username and password.
- When asked for username, enter: bfbc
- When asked for password, enter: bicycle
(Sorry for the minor hassle. The newsletter contains email addresses which were being harvested by spam-robots. Requiring username and password is an attempt to make the newsletters available to humans but not spammers.)
A nice thing about our on-line version is that the photos are in color, not black-and-white like our print version. Well, some of them, anyway. Photos for Mar-Apr 2002 through 2005 are in black-and-white. Photos up through Jan-Feb 2002 and starting again in 2006 are in color.
The on-line newsletter is in PDF format. In order to read or print it, you will need software such as Acrobat Reader, a free PDF reader program from Adobe.
2006: Winter-Feb Spring-May (only 2 newsletters in 2006)
2005: Jan-Feb* Mar-Apr May-Jun (only 3 newsletters in 2005)
2004: Jan-Feb Mar-Apr May-Jun Jul-Aug Sep-Oct Nov-Dec
2003: Jan-Feb Mar-Apr May-Jun* Jul-Aug Sep-Oct Nov-Dec
2002: Jan-Feb Mar-Apr May-Jun Sep-Oct Nov-Dec
2001: Jan-Feb Mar-Apr May-Jun Jul-Aug Sep-Oct Nov-Dec
The files range in size from 150KB to 7700KB. The larger ones will take a while to download, even on the fastest connection. (Todo: add sizes for the specific files, because they vary so much.)
* Notes
- The on-line Jan-Feb 2005 newsletter contains a calendar change from the print version. The Safe Routes to Transit Kickoff Workshop, which was listed in the print version as Feb 10, 9:00am-Noon, has changed to Feb 25, 1:00-5:00pm.
- The on-line May-Jun 2003 newsletter differs just slightly from the printed version. Sorry.
